Goby All Black

I couldn't have been more excited to receive Goby's all black electric toothbrush to match my beauty essentials. I've been using it for a few days now and absolutely love it! It's super easy to use with just the push of a button, with a standard and sensitive mode. It also has a built-in timer that notifies you when to switch quadrants while brushing, making it easy to brush for the recommended 2 minutes.

The toothbrush also comes with a cute stand that has a charger you can attach when needed to keep your sink clutter free. What I love most is that Goby partners with NYC College of Dentistry's Student Outreach Program, which donates a percentage of their sales to help provide dental service to people all over the world. How awesome is that?

This toothbrush is definitely Mochi approved :D

Oahu, Hawaii 2017

I've been to Oahu, Hawaii countless times with my husband, and it still never gets old. What makes it even better is that my friends moved out there and have been living there for about 2 years now. I'm the type of traveler that gets anxious and wakes up early wanting to go do something. But this past trip we decided to chill more and relax, which I'm glad we did. Since I only see my friends what seems like once a year, we really took advantage each day of our trip and hit up almost every side of the island. Snorkel, dive, eat, watch sunsets, repeat. Keep reading as I share with you some of the highlights of our trip!

Lanikai Beach

A popular beach on the windward side. And I totally agree! The water was calm and a beautiful shade of blue the day we went, but it was also very hot. But that didn't stop us from laying out and getting our tan on.

North Shore

We always have to hit up the North Shore whenever we visit. Definitely one of my favorite places to go. We relaxed and went swimming a bit at Waimea Bay, then ate at the shrimp trucks nearby. Giovanni's Shrimp Truck is one of my absolute favorites and is a must when at North Shore. You won't regret it! We also got upgraded to a Jeep on this trip which was awesome :D

I found Arvo on Yelp and think it's one of the cutest spots to grab coffee in Honolulu. They share their space with two little shops where you can buy apparel, basic camping items, and you can also customize your own succulents or green arrangements.

What I love most is how beautiful the sunsets are. Since we were there for a week, we were able to see several sunsets on different beaches. All were beautiful in their own way.

Snorkeling is one of our favorite activities to do in Hawaii, or just on any island. Since we came during the tail-end of summer, some of our go-to spots for snorkeling weren't in the best conditions to do so. But this gave us a chance to snorkel at spots we haven't been to before. Alan Davis Beach and Makapu'u Beach Park had pretty calm and clear waters for us to snorkel. We took advantage and spent the entire day out. We were able to see a spotted eagle ray, a sea urchin, and a pretty good amount of fish. Sadly I don't have many underwater photos, but you can view a fun video of our trip with some underwater footage from our GoPro here :)

And of course, my friends were the best highlight of the trip!

These are just some of the highlights, but there was so much more to even put in one blog post! I hope you enjoyed the photos and reading about our trip!

How to Pack for One Week in a Carry On

How many times have you been on a trip and when you finally arrive to your destination, it takes forever until you get your check-in suitcase?

I've been on many trips, both domestic and international, and over time I've learned how to pack my suitcase efficiently. I'll be heading to Oahu, Hawaii soon with my husband for a much needed vacation and I wanted to share with you how I normally pack for a one week long island vacation, all in a carry-on suitcase. I use the Samsonite Omni PC Hardside 20" Spinner as my carry-on which, in my opinion, is amazing. It surprisingly fits A LOT and I have managed to go on several trips with just this one suitcase + my backpack. That's it! No checking in bags, no waiting at the luggage carousel for who knows how long for that check-in bag. Just grab it, and go!

Here's how I pack:

1. Roll instead of fold

I find rolling my clothes a lot more space efficient. The great thing about going on island vacations is that you'll be packing light. Most of my clothes always consists of mainly bikinis which doesn't take up much room. Any shirts I bring will be of very light material and easy to roll up. I'll throw in a few pairs of cut off shorts and maybe one sweater with still enough room for more

2. Limit your footwear

Since you'll be on the beach most of the time, you probably won't need to bring much footwear. You'll be barefoot more than half the time! But I always bring one pair of sneakers which is one of the bulkier items that I wear on the flight. I'll also bring one pair of flip flops and one pair of more decent pair of sandals for when you go out to eat. I always do just fine with these 3 pairs.

3. Bring only the essentials

This goes for any beauty needs or toiletry essentials. Items like sunblock, moisturizer, eye cream, toothpaste, toothbrush, leave-in conditioner, etc — try to fit it all in one decent sized bag. Most hotels provide a blow dryer so you won't need to bring one. Remember to consider that any liquids you bring must be in a 3 oz. sized bottle. And don't forget those quart size zip lock bags to store them in!

4. Leave room for any extras

If you're the type that frequents island vacations most of the time, then you're probably one of those people that always brings your snorkeling gear. I always make sure to leave just enough room for them. Depending on the size of your fins it may or may not fit in your carry-on, so make sure to check the size first. Also leave room to pack your GoPro to document your snorkeling adventure ;)

5. Take advantage of your personal item

If ever you run out of space in your carry-on and still need a little more room, this is where your personal item comes in. I always use my Herschel Retreat Backpack because it's easy to bring around and it's pretty spacious. Also make sure to have any ID's, credit cards, passports, and important documents safely stored in your personal bag.

Now this is just a general idea of the method I use to make everything fit. But I hope this is a little bit helpful for those going on a one week island vacation. If you have other ways of packing efficiently, feel free to comment below! I'd love to hear them :)

Volition Beauty Now at Sephora.com

Last week I received an adorable package from Volition Beauty with 3 beauty products from their new line: the Oil-Control Mattifying Mist, the Helix AM/PM Eye Gel, and the Tumeric Brightening Polish. They have just launched at Sephora.com today, and I was one of the lucky ones to receive these products before they were available to the public.

My favorite of the 3 is the eye gel because for years I have always struggled trying to find ways to brighten up my under eyes. Previously I was already using an eye cream that worked great. After switching it up and trying out Volition Beauty's eye gel, it seems to be working just as well! My under eyes still look brighter after a week of using it, so I know it's working. It has a smooth and light texture, not heavy on the eyes at all. I also don't even have to put a lot, so a little goes a long way. It also seems to be fragrance free which is nice because I'm constantly smelling different scents from all of the products I use on the daily including dry shampoo, moisturizers, etc.

I do love nicely designed packaging so I just had to photograph the boxes that the products were delivered to me as well as the products itself. It's simple and modern, with a touch of feminine. The integration of a watercolor texture adds an organic feel to the products. And the choice of light and modern fonts tie in well with the overall look. I absolutely love the rose gold and how it was nicely distributed throughout the packaging.

Thank you Volition Beauty for giving me a chance to try out these products. Check them out at Sephora.com to see more!
