Oahu, Hawaii 2017

I've been to Oahu, Hawaii countless times with my husband, and it still never gets old. What makes it even better is that my friends moved out there and have been living there for about 2 years now. I'm the type of traveler that gets anxious and wakes up early wanting to go do something. But this past trip we decided to chill more and relax, which I'm glad we did. Since I only see my friends what seems like once a year, we really took advantage each day of our trip and hit up almost every side of the island. Snorkel, dive, eat, watch sunsets, repeat. Keep reading as I share with you some of the highlights of our trip!

Lanikai Beach

A popular beach on the windward side. And I totally agree! The water was calm and a beautiful shade of blue the day we went, but it was also very hot. But that didn't stop us from laying out and getting our tan on.

North Shore

We always have to hit up the North Shore whenever we visit. Definitely one of my favorite places to go. We relaxed and went swimming a bit at Waimea Bay, then ate at the shrimp trucks nearby. Giovanni's Shrimp Truck is one of my absolute favorites and is a must when at North Shore. You won't regret it! We also got upgraded to a Jeep on this trip which was awesome :D

I found Arvo on Yelp and think it's one of the cutest spots to grab coffee in Honolulu. They share their space with two little shops where you can buy apparel, basic camping items, and you can also customize your own succulents or green arrangements.

What I love most is how beautiful the sunsets are. Since we were there for a week, we were able to see several sunsets on different beaches. All were beautiful in their own way.

Snorkeling is one of our favorite activities to do in Hawaii, or just on any island. Since we came during the tail-end of summer, some of our go-to spots for snorkeling weren't in the best conditions to do so. But this gave us a chance to snorkel at spots we haven't been to before. Alan Davis Beach and Makapu'u Beach Park had pretty calm and clear waters for us to snorkel. We took advantage and spent the entire day out. We were able to see a spotted eagle ray, a sea urchin, and a pretty good amount of fish. Sadly I don't have many underwater photos, but you can view a fun video of our trip with some underwater footage from our GoPro here :)

And of course, my friends were the best highlight of the trip!

These are just some of the highlights, but there was so much more to even put in one blog post! I hope you enjoyed the photos and reading about our trip!
